A/N: No harm feelings to Sniper guild, i just picked a famous name. To all Sniper Members, my apologies. Please do not be offended.

Chapter 2: Awakening

I woke up,with a bad migraine. My head hurt. I found myself lying on a mattress in an empty room. I tried to get up but when i did, my entire body felt as if something was holding me back.*Creak* the door to my room opened up. I saw Slifer walk in. "How ya doing pal, got a little bump in the head there?" he said. I found it weird as i didn't recall bumping my head against the wall. A small little Pepe waddled in,"Lucky you must be, this brave little boy saved you he did!" said the Pepe.(Thats how the Pepe talks.) I was really grateful for Slifer saving me. I always liked him.Well...as a friend...i think..yeah yeah, as a friend.

Another girl walked in, a Sniper. I saw that her guild was a SniperR3 and immediately, i developed angry emotions towards her as i had never liked this guild. They had killed my Grupin in a KillSteal war. The entire Sniper Guild had attacked it, thinking it was one of the stray Grupins. I got really angry at that guild.

"What are you doing here" i said to the girl. "Dont worry Alyson, she helped to save you. I was weak and she helped me bring you here. Her names' Michelle" said Slifer. "Hi, nice to meet you. Are you ok?" she asked. "Yeah i'm fine..."i replied. Michelle walked out to get some fresh air.

"Hey, Alyson, if i wanted to ask someone i really liked out, do you think i should go for it?" Slifer asked.I suddenly felt extrememly weird inside. Was he about to ask me? He could be asking me!..What should i say? "It's Alyson, i hope she says yes. I just met her, she's really nice...plus she's hot!"Slifer said. I suddenly felt as if my heart was falling six feet below the ground. "Go for it" i said, faking a smile. Trying to hold back my tears, i still gave him words of encouragement.

Michelle walked into the room. I felt as if she was laughing at me, mocking me.How could i have thought that Slifer would like me over her."Hey Michelle, i was wondering if you would go out with me, like to make out with you...i mean make it up.. my words get jumbled..i meant make out, I MEAN MAKE UP."he said.

"Sure, make it up, yeah.." Michelle replied. Slifer walked out of the room, elated of course..
Michelle came up to me and said "Hey Alyson, i got something to tell you about Slifer.."

Now that that crap is over and done with, on to chapter 1...

Chapter 1: The Preperation

A/N: I will try to make each chapter have The but no promises though. By the way, can anyone help me think of a non-cliched title to this story?

Slifer donned his armor as he prepared for his first battle ever. He had trained his whole life for this moment. He tensed up his arms, wondering if he would even see his family again after today. This had started from a minor feud to a war. Slifer hoped he wouldnt be one of the casualties. He slid on his Casters - courtesy of one of his numerous friends he had scattered across the many different continents. He picked up his case of throwing stars, clipping them onto his wrist, the mechanism in his armor automatically loading the case into a compartment that allowed control of the stars sliding out of it with just a thought from the mind.

He walked out of the locker room, ignoring all his other squad member's cries of "Good Luck!" or "Don't get yourself killed the first time!" knowing that all they did was add confidence, something that Slifer had never believed in. To be confident was to think you know something but when in reality you probably knew nothing. Slifer had decided early on that it was best to stay on your toes, always expecting something from your opponent.

His eyes narrowed in the glaring sun, despite the fact that all around El Nath was covered with enchanted snow that would never melt. It was a wierd feeling, summer in El Nath, for you would be feeling hot and cold at the same time, bringing about the shivers that have cost the life of more than one mapler. He stopped in front of his commander, raising his right hand to his forehead in a salute, staying perfectly still and waiting for his orders.

"Alright Cadet Slifer. This is your very first mission so listen up. There is a major battle going on in the Ice Valleys. I want you to go down there together with your squad members to help out. We are running out of vehicles therefore you are expected to make your way there and rendezvous with you squad members at the site of battle. Is that clear?" Commander Firefox ordered, in his usual gruff tone.

"SIR YES SIR!"

Commander Firefox lowered his voice."Now Slifer, this is your very first mission. So far it has only been training and simulators. This is the real thing. Winning is not a priority for this battle. Your safety is number one. You are too good a soldier to lose."

Slifer was surprised. He had never heard a tone from his commander like that before: concern. Usually, when the commander was with Slifer, his demeanor was one of several possible variations on grim: either grim, or savage and grim, or world-weary and grim, or determined and grim, or just plain grim and grim. He did not strike Slifer as someone who expressed concern. He had probably seen enough bloodshed to be pretty fucking much immune to it by now.

Slifer accepted the order with a nod but pushed it to the back of his mind, reminding himself that keeping himself safe didnt mean letting the enemy getting away. Sometimes you just had to put a life at stake for the greater good. Maybe even someone close to you.

Jumping up in the air and concentrating to create a ring of mystical energy to propell himself forward a few hundred meters forward in a second, Slifer began a journey that would change his life forever.

My Saviour Part 1

The last thing i remember was trying to hang on to a rope for my life in the Cave of trial 3. Burning Lava and Bains awaited me below. My grip was loosening and i was slowly descending down the rope. My hands were so cold from fear, sweat trickled down from my forehead. My grip was loosening, the last thing that happened before i lost consciousness was a hand reaching out to me. Well this was the end and the start of a new beginning for me. But as all stories, i should start from the very beginning.

Becoming level 70 was a great deal for Slifer and I. New adventures had awaited us, new beginnings, new dangers. Coolie zombies were our training grounds since we were level 55. Seldom, we trained at the Forest of dead trees 4. Always wanting to explore the caves of trial, we decided that it was dangers beyond our imagination, and that we should explore it only after we had new skills. Finally, our wait had ended. We both became level 70 together. Excited to explore after we had added our new skills, we decided that we should have gone to the cave of trial as that was something long awaited for both of us. Never in our minds had we imagined something so horrible to happen.
We walked to The Passage, just a portal from a map people told me that Maplers who went in, hardly came out.(This is all fan-fiction so just play along with it). Slifer was, well , a DareDevil so he didn't really think these rumours were true. Neither did I. We ventured in,nearly to our deaths. We went through the portal and saw monster we never expected to see. Slifer, or course was over confident after killing his first Cerebes (boys....) decided that we should venture further in. As his attack skills were higher than mine, i left all the killing to him and i just happily looted the items that dropped from these new monsters. We reached the cave of trial 3, one of the most dangerous caves. We didn't know much about these monsters as non of our buddies or guild members had ever gone it except one of my friends, but he never made it out to tell the tale.

We went in thinking it must have been like one of the other caves. Out of no where, we saw this red looking type or Cerebes. "Ah, he must have fallen into the lava or something" said Slifer. He daringly dived to it. Now we all now that monsters don't attack you unless they are provoked. He started attacking the red type of Cerebes. Now i wished i had payed more attention in my Monsters 101 class. At a split second i remembered that these weren't just any old sort of Cerebes...These were...these were...BAINS!
I turned around and shouted, "NO SLIFER!" but it was too late. i saw James laying on the ground, unconscious. He had barely made it to the top, climbing up a rope. I wanted to climb up and get him. The floor was unsteady, looking as if it would break off any moment. I made a leap for the rope, and i caught it just in time, because immediately after that, the floor broke off into the lava. Below me i could see a pit of lava, with Bains surrounding it. I couldnt hode on to the rope any longer because that was bits of lava rock on it.People say before you die, your life flashes before your eyes, for me there were pictures of lvl 10, lvl 20,lvl30. My hands burned but i knew that i had to hold on for Slifer. Slifer was my best friend and i always did treat him as a really best friend, but i knew if i didn't hold on any longer, I would never have such a friend again.
